For news & features, word-processing files are preferable (Word, text, Pages, LibreOffice, WPS Office, etc.) For images, preferable formats are jpeg, tiff, png, gif or raw files. The higher the resolution, the better (150 dpi minimum, 300 or higher dpi preferable).
